Well first, you aren't using 4gb of memory with Windows XP. It's 32-bit, and ALL 32-bit OS's have a 4gb memory cap, and that includes any memory your graphics card may be using (even though its located on the card). So at the MOST you are probably getting 3gb from that 4gb.
The best thing to do would be to use 2gb of really high quality memory. This board WILL use 1066mhz memory, even though it says the highest is 800. If you still want 4gb, then go with 2x2gb sticks instead of 4x1gb. The Striker Extreme is notorious for not liking all 4 sticks present. I am using all 4 sticks, but I plan on bringing it down to 2x2gb as soon as possible. |
