Alright, this is starting to piss me off. 
It's been about 10 years since I used Unix and I've been trying to play with ubuntu, but everytime I try and do something (like install F@H, AV, etc) I have to jump through hoops to get permissions.
Is there a good beginner's guide for basic stuff?
