It feels pretty solid and with the 6 speed manual transmission it's reasonably quick. Of course going from my old chevy (in the background) to this, a prius would seem quick it's pretty utilitarian inside and with better tires is supposed to be a reasonably capable recreational 4x4. Perfect for the 225mile drive to/from work every two weeks. I haven't had a new car since 1995 so it was time.
I originally wanted a new Chevy 3/4-ton diesel, but the dealerships up here don't seem to realize that 2007 model trucks are already 1 year old when you drive them off the lot and are not being very reasonable in negotiations. This probably has a lot to do with the fact that everyone up here drives a truck. Anyway, I got the FJ for $500 over invoice, which wasn't as good as the deals I'm hearing about down south, but since there is only one Toyota dealer up here I still feel pretty good about it.
You can tell by the partially deflated zodiak in the background that my neighbor is a pack rat. Nice people, but deflated rubber boats don't belong in the front yard. _________________
