				Chances are the drive is fine.  If it's from a different motherboard, your windows installation probably doesn't recognize your new hardware properly.  That's why it's causing a crash when it tries to load windows off of it.  You should be able to keep it as a secondary drive though, so I'm not sure what the trouble is there.  
 
 
The simplest thing to do is follow BB's advice and put the drive into a USB hard drive enclosure. _________________
