While downloading the latest version of Java, I remember to check my Add/Remove for previous versions; which I found a few.
Bad me! Please remember when you install an update of Java, specially one that has security updates, you need to MANUALLY go into Add/Remove programs and remove the previous versions.
Why? Well because under Java and applet can request a version of the runtime environment. If it's there Java will run it, and therefor give any nasty applets access to the flaw they want to exploit. Nice of Sun to help them out like that huh?
So, please remember... Remove older Java versions when you get new updates. You have to do it manually through the "Add or Remove Programs" in the control panel. |
