Its been awhile since I did some overclocking the hard way. Nowadays any idiot with access to the BIOS can OC his CPU. I decided to OC my laptop since its always plugged in and no battery life concerns.
Took my Celeron 380(?) 1.6ghz to 2.128ghz via a pin mod - 400fsb to 533fsb.. After 4hrs of running mpegs and other stuffs, it runs 4'C cooler then it did at 1.6ghz. ....mostly in part to the better thermo paste I used over Toshiba's stock stuff.
Free upgrade.. ..minus an hour's time to take my Satellite apart and the sacreficing of a couple fine strands of speaker wire. |
