Installed a new 160GB Seagate hard drive into a system that has an 80GB SATA drive installed and an IDE optical.
The first boot up, the drive is found and configured. Works great.
Do a reboot/shut down and the next time I go into XP, the system either locks up during the boot sequence or goes into a reboot cycle.
Remove the drive the computer boots up. Reattach the drive, it boots up once, then goes back to the lock/reboot issue.
If I boot into safe mode, the drive is there, and works. Reboot, and it works fine. Next reboot/shut down it goes into the lock/reboot mode again. |
