Could very well be the PSU. When the PSU get's hot, it's power output declines. So as you're using it it will get hot and the power will decline and then... BOOP. Bye Bye PC.
Best bet is to get a can of compressed air and blow out the PSU, and make sure the fan (if any) is running.
PC Power & Cooling makes replacements for the PSU. http://www.pcpower.com/products/viewproduct.php?show=S41D2 not a lot cheaper than a new unit though.
