I am running raid0 with three 80gb drives and haven't had a problem. I also have a 300gb drive for backup...and a external 300gb...and a 120gb backup server...alot would have to go wrong for me to lose everything.
Anyways, if you have a high end pc you must get a UPS...I got one from buy.com for $130...Belkin 1500VA...its very good. Tested it with my machine, lcd monitor, speakers and it lasted 39min before it would have shutdown automatically. With my server pc connected it lasted 26min. It's good to have one that will autoshutdown for you incase you are not around to do a clean shutdown.
