Also check if it's linear, logarithmic/audio or reversed-log. You want a linear pot. It's going to be marked 100KB on it. (A for log, B for linear, C for reverse log)
It's only about $2 for one at RatShack.
Some fans are noisy because of poor blades or motor humming. Even a fan controller will not help in this case. There are ball bearing fans that, when turned manually, are harder to turn at specific spots. There are going to make lots of motor noise.
You should look for about 27dB or lower. |
