Just go to http://www.theregister.co.uk/odds/bofh/ and you can read up on how to handle these customers properly. If you're well practiced, they'll either fear your arrival or worship the ground you walk on. 
Personally, I have a mixture of both in my office.  When I mention "policy" people tend to backpedal and wish they had never submitted a ticket. |
