Besides wake on LAN, their are anumber of other 'Wake on.."events that can be set including various schedulers, some of which work for you (update/run AV, AS, Etc.) and some work against you (virus, spyware,etc.)
best bet is to set an event log and then check as to what event happened at/to cause the turnon.
