Because they'll settle with some pathetic coupon settlement like NetFlix did. At best, you'd see $10. It's not worth $10 to install a rootkit that hoses my machine and means I need to reformat just to be able to use my cdrom like I was able to before. I'd rather just not install the rootkit crap in the first place. Call me a hacker, call me crazy, whatever, but I just got my PC working exactly perfect last month and I'm not going to hose it up again.
