Ok...
New Chapter...
I ventured into the dark woods (BIOS), & yes, I actually did find the temperature alarm. I found it disabled.
So, I'm guessing that's not it...? 
I'm using Phoenix BIOS, apparently, but the alarm I'm getting insn't listed on the chart highonV8splash linked.
And, I've uninstalled MBM 5, so that's probably not it, either.
And the alarm came back tonight. I wasn't doing anything heavy, either. (But, yeh, you're right--it did usually show up when I was working on serious graphics or animation.) Ironically, it came up tonight when I was playing the Inuyasha flash game on adultswim.com . The biggest part of this irony stems from the fact that I don't even like anime.
Should i start looking into religion, maybe?
