you can get a backup program but the easiest thing to do is
[in thunderbird]
tools > account settings > server settings (of the account in question)
look at the bottom the window and you will see Local Directory and a Browse button. This is where the files are, just make copy of these.
The files are something like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\euxrgp5r.default\Mail\pop.*****.com |
