Quote: | Hardware for Humanity is a joint effort of Gruntville.com and TheBestCaseScenario.com to raise money to help rebuild the devastated Gulf Coast region. I know there are a ton of scams out there and you may think this is another one and just toss it. I ask that before you do that, check us out. You will see that the four people responsible for this, John "Gruntman" Krump, Brian "Dante" Giacoleti, Paul "CrimsonSky" Capella, and myself, Rich "DickNervous" Neves, have all been active members of the PC Enthusiast community for some time and can be trusted. Besides, look at the pic below. If we weren't legit, would AMD send us almost $10,000 worth of CPUs to raffle off?
Hardware for Humanity is an organization with the goal of raising $100,000 to help rebuild school computer labs and networks in the Gulf Coast region that were devastated by the killer hurricanes this summer. In the event that we do not reach that goal, all money collected will go to the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. It was formed by staff members from GruntvillE.com and TheBestCaseScenario.com.
To reach that lofty goal are raffling off some cool hardware every week until we run out of prizes. So far we have given away a few Cooler Master power supplies, a Silverstone Prize Pack, and a Curcial Balistix Prize Pack. Now we are very proud to announce that out Platinum Sponsor, AMD , has sent us not 1, not 10, not even 20, but 26 processors ranging from Sempron 3400 to FX-55s, including some of the new dual core chips.
This week we are giving away an AMD64 3800 dual core chip, next week a AMD64 FX-55. We will be mixing in the remaining processors with the other items that our generous sponsors have provided over the next few months.
Raffle tickets are just $5 each, 5 for $20, and all proceeds will go to the people that need it. Everything the organization uses from web space to people's time is donated, so there is $0 in overhead (other then PayPal fees). Any raffle tickets you buy are good for the ENTIRE raffle, not just the current week. So buy now and have 26 chances to make the leap to 64 bit computing while helping out a good cause. |
