If your want linux, get a real operating system. Go for a BSD OS. I prefer freebsd. However thats just me.
Anyway. Last version of RH I used was 7.0. I found it decent for the windows person because it had everything and the kitchen sink. I just dont like that. I also have never realy embraced the RH comunity nor did they embrace me.
I have always found better help/suport/response time in the slackware communities. As a result I use a lot of slackware varients. Though I have not used the "official" slackware in some time. (bout a year).
Is this your first linux? You wont be disapointed, trust me. The only thing windows has over *nix is gaming. And no, thats not because windows is more suited. Its simply because more develpers and users. There are games for *nix but not as many as windows. But for your everyday computers/interet etc its more then fine.
