The only issue I have with this is that not all criminals deserve to be in jail. The system sucks and is more of a guilty until proven innocent and if you can't pay for an attorney but don't qualify financially for one, you may as well be guilty. His jail sounds like it walks a fine line between being inhumane and being a jail, but a blanket policy like his fails to account for nonviolent criminals who, in my opinion, are the ones suffering the most in his jail for being treated in a manner not fitting their crime (petty theft does not equate to a year in a tent in pink boxers but murder certainly could). After all, if you're caught speeding in his county, and you're handed a jail sentence, do you want to spend a month in a tent wearing boxers with a murderer? |
