It comes down to price. As far as I know you have to get a Xeon CPU to get the EMT64 extensions on an Intel CPU. Which is in the $245 range for a 2.8Ghz. Versus around that price you can get an A64 3400+ for less, and a 3500+ for about $20 more.
I would suggest getting a budget of what you want to spend, and price a comparably priced A64 system and a Intel EMT64 based system and see which one gives you the biggest chubby. |
