I don't think I would buy one of those single slot exhaust versions of a blower, because if you look at how little space they have for exhausting the air, I doubt they are very effective.

This must be the one you're refering to. It's a nice change in the regular blower setup. You'll definitely get cooler air to the vid card, but I wonder what would it do to the temps for the whole system though... you know, altering the whole front-to-back airflow. Also you have to make sure its fairly clean behind your tower, or you'll end up with dustbunnyville inside your case ... and depending on what vidcard you own, you could be sacrificing up to 3 expansion slots just for video, but I guess that's a problem on a case to case scenario.
This blowers have been around for a while (the regular ones I mean)... I remember installing one on my ex's tower back in '95... didn't do much of a diference... |
