I've been getting a bunch of two kinds of e-mails, so let me clear things up for people just signing up...
1. I am getting bounced "return to sender" type e-mails as people try to register for the forum with invalid addresses. The registration here is not complete until you acknowledge a server generated welcome e-mail.
2. I am also getting responses to the resgistration welcome message stating things like "To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I have approved beforehand"... 
Anyway, the point is you need a valid e-mail address to join the forum, as well as to enter the contest! And I do not know how anyone intends to pre-approve me...
