Partitioning the HD sounds good to me. The HD that has the OS (XP) and all of the SW applications installed is a 200 GIG and I also have a second 60 GIG drive installed.
What about creating three partitions on the 200 GIG, a small one for the OS, 10-15 gig for the applications and the balance for data? The biggest problem I have with this upgrade are the applications. Alot of the applications that I use regularly have many updates and patches which I will have to reinstall. My copy of XP Pro does not have SP2 and I will have to download it and the other necessary OS updates. That is easy compared to installing the applications and doing the updates and patches for them.
If creating a dedicated partition just for the OS is a practical concept, about how big should it be? I'm not sure how big XP is. Thanks in advance for your replys!!
