I had the same problem with my CTX. Some suggested opening up the thing and checking for loose connections  I don't thinks so.
With the way CRT's are priced nowadays, I went out and bought a nice Samsung 19" 900DF for about $150.
The way I look at it, at that price, if it last a couple of years, I got my money's worth out of it. I guess they are pretty much disposable.
Others will probably recommend flat screens to you, but I'm not interested in them right now due to price and I'm into gaming.
Just my opinion.
