If the time on the server is off, or gains then it will push that out to all PC's. The DC should be using SNTP to set itself to the atomic clock; however in smaller networks many times the admin's don't know how to do this.
And the OS will "write back" to the CMOS clock. Try it manually... set the CMOS clock off, then change it in the OS, reboot to the BIOS and... you'll see it's what it got changed to in the OS. |
