This is my first post in this forum.
I am looking to buy a good TV Tuner for my CL 56 laptop.

I need it to record some football/soccer games from TV and some movies.
I would like to know if its better to go with the cheaper ones (<100) which seem to do software encoding like the
Transcend(donno if its hardware or software)
Gainward Hollywood@home --> software encoding
Hauppage (low end stuff)

or the ones > 100 which are doing hardware encoding

like adaptec
