If the developer makes a native Linux client, than no, you don't have to reboot. Several games have native Linux clients, including all the Unreal Tournament games, Quake3, Postal 2, etc. It's rumored that Doom3 will have a native linux port (/me keeps fingers crossed).
The second option is to use windows emulation, wine for OpenGL games, and wineX for Direct3D games. Both of these have varying levels of success, and are getting better, but still can't beat a native port to Linux.
And of course, you can always dual boot Windows and Linux, but why would you want to waste HDD space on windows?? _________________ It's got something to do with motherboards and fuzzy logic, f**k, I don't know... |
