I believe Seagate is currently the only manufacturer that offers TRUE SATA drives.
As in, not adapted on board.
If you notice most SATA drives have provisions for both SATA power and Molex connectors. THe Seagates do not because they are native SATA drives.
I could be off base here, but I do know that I have had tremendous good benches and luck with SATA Seagates.
I have returned to Newegg a total of 4 Hitachi / deathstar SATA drives in the last 3 months.
The Raptors are of course spendy and I haven't noticed huge numbers form them, kind of dissapointed.
Me, I would order Seagates everytime, at this moment.
