System's been wonky for a while, based on some error messages I thought it was my video card. Fine, I had a ATI 3870, it was probably time for an upgade so I got a ATI 6950. Things seemed good for a while, then I noticed a 160GB HDD I had wasn't showing up under windows - and in the BIOS, no super big deal it was old and I only had some old ripped movies on it. Removed, no problems.
Then this week it started bluescreening again... @#$*!!! I'm thinking it must be windows, as it was a Vista -> Win 7 upgrade. Then Friday.... Blue Screen NTFS.SYS... And it won't come back.. phuck.......
Friday night when I get home I do a little testing, nothing. Fine I have a WD 500GB SATA drive sitting around that I have never used (bought it when I thought maybe it was part of Misty's strange rebooting problem). Start installing a fresh copy of Win 7 Ultimate, and take the old drive out. I check and see there is a Firmware update for the drive, so I plug it into a USB/eSATA drive bay I have it works so I download all my doc's/pic's/music to my laptop (I need a backup drive badly), and put it back into my system flash it... still nothing. Works once more in the USB drive and then... .
Having to reinstall all this sux's a$$!
O'well... at least tomorrow I get to see my 49ers kick the Squak out of the SeaChickens. |
