I think its kind of disappointing for ATi's first 45nm card being that the memory bus is only 128MB. I would take the 4830 over a 4770 if I were looking for a $100 graphics card.

I think the one specific comparison you are referring to is more of an exception than the rule...............Mr. T

The only area where the HD 4670 beats the 3870 would be power consumption. The 128MB memory bus limits the 4670's performance where as most of the other specs are close.
