Yeah it's been a while since 3.5.7 was released, and even then the jumps between 3.5 versions haven't really been much.

I've never liked Gnome/GTK at all. It's too ugly and lacks the ability to customize. KDE is just better if you want a certain usability from your DE. I'd love it if the Linux community in general star ...

The way to to it and keep it clean is to solder them together then use heatshrink tubing over the solder points. You can pick up some at Radioshack for pretty cheap and just heat it with a lighter.

Easiest solution would just be to cut them and solder/tape/heatsrhink pieces of wire to reconnect them and make them longer.
