Greetings and salutations, and peace amung all of you (except whoever I am playing in Fantasy Football this week...and you're going down!).

I've got a question to put forth to all the good modders out there. I have an idea for a mod, but the beginning of it just is throwing me for a loop, and I need some input.

How would you make a sphere about 20" in diameter with which to mod? It would have to be hollow (for the computer to go into), and would have to be a material that can have stuff done to it (cut, molded, painted, etc). Lightweight would be nice, but sturdy (please...no titanium).

This is a serious project that came to me the other day...I just have to figure out how to start.

Thanks for whatever help you can give.

But foam wouldn't be that sturdy...would it? Unless I were to cover the insides and outsides with something that would solidify the foam.

Even if I could make it in 2 halves and then put the 2 halves together, that would work...

Go to your local K-Mart/Target/walmart and check out the garden center... they have these shiny mirrored colored balls that people put in their gardens. should be perfect for a starter.

This is what I found: Stainless steel, light, and 12" in diameter.

Cool! ifound something similar to this last night here: http://www.centurymetalspinning.com/products/

They custom make stuff like that. I wrote them an email asking about sizes and if they could make something in 2 hemispheres that could be locked together to make a sphere...we'll see what they say. They have a cool video on that site about how they make stuff...very interesting.

Thanks spire!
