I'm looking for software to run a web-based anonymous proxy server out of my house. Something similar to www.proxify.com.

Any tips/ideas/software titles?

Looking for something that wouldn't need a client-side program in order to work. Usage is to get passed stupid web filters at school, there are plenty of sites around that do this, but hosting my own would prevent them from blocking it Wave

If you school has a 1/2 way decent IT staff and/or proxy program.... they will get around to blocking your proxy server too.

A- We don't by any means. This is the first year our school has windows xp(I strongly advised against it last year, they didnt listen), and they are having errors of all sorts with it.

B- They would only block my proxy server by its ip if they ever got around to it (aka a large portion of the student body was using it). If that was the case, I'd simply change my ip.

I've got the code that is similar to www.anonymizer.com, unfortunately, I think im having some sort of CGI script error with apache when setting up the site. Not configuring it correctly is my suspicion.

Why on earth would you advise them against Windows XP? I assume the old OS was an older version of windows, if so XP was a smart move. If they had a decen unix network set up on the other hand...

Why do you want to get around your schools security? Bragging rights? There are better ways to get bragging rights. I disabled the security software on my highschools network ("foolproof" security, lol) and all it got me was a meeting with the principle, superintendent, network administrator... and my parents. Followed by having my computer removed from my room and put in the living room until I graduated. Wasn't worth it.

If you want porn just PM me... if you're over 18... lol

If I wanted bragging rights I'd just down the network, we have such an old version of Novell installed, it wouldn't be too difficult. I simply want to view some of the sites that are banned.

Not to be argumentative but , if it would not be difficult to down the network how or why would it give you bragging rights if you did?
