So I go into work today and the server was off because we are wireing a few new machines at the shop. So I boot it up and go about my day. Well few minutes later cant connect to the server. Turns out the video card was toast, threw up some error and freaked out Win2003. Took it out and found out coolant leaked from the cpu block. my boss went and got some silicon paste to seal the block and we are back in business (minus a 200 dollar vid card). So anyone else ever had probs with water cooling, and how much of the system did you loose? Confused

On another note ASUS motherboards have this cool audio announcement instead of annyoing beeps. Razz

I have had a few leaks while putting things in and out... One killed a Radeon 9600, probably because the system was on when it happened... Others did no damage as the systems were off and I let everything dry really well first.

I took out a Barton 2500+. I moved the case and a hose that ran on the outside of the case got pinched up against the wall blocking water flow.

As I've stated in a previous thread, I don't trust leaks. For $40 bucks you can get a quart of Fluid XP which is non-conductive. If you get a small leak, it won't fry your hardware. It's only like 93% as effective as water, but the worry is gone.

That's awesome, good to know when looking to purchase a water cooling system, wouldn't happen to have a URL where to buy the fluid would you?

Thanks

Heck yeah, mine leaked all over the place awhile back. Nothing broken, nothing damaged. Put a normal HSF back on it, until I work out the bugs when I'm good and unlazy.

Mine leaked onto my R9800pro and video went out. I shut it down, dried everything of, used the compressor to blow the coolant out of the AGP slot and added another hose clamp to each line. Crossed my fingers as I hit the power switch and ................................whew she booted up just fine. Apparently no permanent damage. Smile

I try to make the rounds every once in awhile Wink

Love my water cooling rig, just don't like the extra maintenance. I guess it's the price you pay for the extra MHz.
