Everything is brand new, just powered up for the first time with only floppy and gpu on mobo. I put the new bios and flash tool on a dos-startup formatted disk. I read where I need to select "Load Setup Default" then re-boot with disk in, but nothing happens it doesn't boot from the floppy, it just goes back into the bios. What else should I be doing?

I personally don't like flashing the bios from a floppy anymore. Asus has excellent software to update your bios from within windows. I find it alot easier, and safer. _________________ Nothing says good job like a firm open palmed slap on the behind.
I have no OS yet and an unformatted HDD, all new. _________________ Lian Li PC-6077B

The original bios will work find until you put an OS and format the hard drive. No sense flashing the bios a more risky and difficult way. _________________ Nothing says good job like a firm open palmed slap on the behind.
The main issue you'll probably find until you flash the bios, is that when you go to do a restart you might have to actually power the machine off instead of a restart. At least that's the issue I encountered on this MB.
Oh yea, ASUS and any software benchmark tool has been misreporting the RAM voltage, although the BIOS reports it correctly.
OK, so I RMA'd my floppy because it seems to be faulty. Without that how do I format my WD HDD so I can put windows on it and then do the Asus ez-flash? _________________ Lian Li PC-6077B

Just boot using your Windows XP CD... you can format and install right from there. No need to use the floppy at all. _________________ - Jim

Oh.... I thought I needed Data Lifeguard Tools to format first.
thanks.
