With the official release of Vista SP2, I just found a thorough comparison between SP1 and SP2 reagrding the OS performance.

It seems that there's no performance benefit from installing SP2 (really, I couldn't swear I felt Vista Loading Time got reduced...Really. Laughing )

I didn't perceive the decreased boot time but I am getting a few quirky things happening. Originally I thought they were just due to SolidWorks but one error happened without SW running.

my boot time definitely seems slower and after installing SP2 my audio is no longer working Bang Head I'm hoping that reinstalling my motherboard audio drivers will fix the problem

Really? Yikes You're the first one I hear that having such a problem with SP2 install...

So far I have no problem after the installation of SP2 and I hope it'll remain like that... Wink

And was it all good before applying SP2?

I downloaded and reinstalled my audio drivers and that seems to have fixed things. Hopefully that will be the only issue I run in to with SP2

I'm glad you sorted things out. I also hope this will be the last issue you'll run into... Wink

Yeah I had just done a complete reinstall of Vista so I was checking things as I went. Speaker crackle pop started the same day I updated to SP2 but I also added SolidWorks the same day so all of this could be a SW issue but prior to reinstalling the OS I had SW and no issues.

Still have the speaker crackle/pop but fixed the printer issue by completely wiping out all settings on both ends and starting over. Now I am just working on SW but I think it might be a lost cause right now.
