When I was still using my X1600XT last week, I did updated my driver to 9.3. Funny thing was, it actually felt as if some game FPS did increased.

As I understand it, 9.3 will be the last driver to regularly support X1000-series cards. Oh, well.

Yeah - after this, old cards are dropped from the unified drivers.

I really didn't notice any difference in performance in any of the games I play on a regular basis with the new drivers.

9.4 is out and it doesn't include X1000-series anymore. Oh, well.

9.4 has at this point been absolutely the best of the ATI driver solutions since I got my 4830s. I have been through 8.1, 8.12, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and now 9.4. In each of the previous instances I kept going back to 8.12 and completely uninstalled CCC. I was just running the drivers and making GPU adjustments with Rivatuner.

Now, I have gone back to CCC and am controlling the GPU's with it again, as well as running the new driver. My 3dMark06 scores have gone up 200 points, and so far I have rock solid stability.
