What does everyone use for their corporate backup structure? My company needs to investigate some new options that would be compatible with our hardware platforms and provide more reliability and interoperability than our current system.

Maybe someone knows of a good open source solution?

We use Symantec Backup Exec 11d (aka Veritas).

I hate it, but we have always used Veritas and we needed the ability to bring back old stuff.

My company is trying to cut ties with Symantec due to a non-competitive price structure. We're still on BExec 9 and upgrading is not possible. This is why I'm trying to find a better solution.

There unfortunately is a reason they don't have competitive prices... Sad

I've used other solutions over the years and always end up coming back to BE...version 11d is pretty darn good.

CA sucks
