I'm downloading Nero 8 as we speak and boy did it get bloated. 178Mb, It's a shame they have become what they used to complete with. I usually use CD Burner XP Pro, but figured I would upgrade my Nero license since they gave me a deal i couldn't refuse. Little did I know it was 178MB _________________

A full install of the new Nero will result in 21 different icons relating to function and features; waaaaay too many programs in my book. _________________

Nero does so much more than just burn cd/dvds that's why it's larger than it used to be. |
Installed it's over 340mb's....The compressed download was 178mb. Crazy. It does try to do too much in my opinion and is in danger of being rendered obsolete by multiple cheap small and efficient programs that do the same thing. The one feature that keeps me using it is it's ability to burn audible books to CD, but I must confess I have become familiar with it's interface and am more comfortable using it than other programs. Although, I've been using the FREE CD Burner XP Pro and ImageBurn more frequently for fast easy burning and they seem to work quite well. _________________

My biggest issue with nero was that they made it so hard to get rid of that "nero scout" folder. You had to unregister it using a command line. I stopped using it because of that. _________________ Turnipofpower.com - The Social Networking Side Dish |
