Good luck with that. I heard that they generally tend to break and/or are cheaply made. When I was shopping for a new vacuum, I looked at those, plus Kirby and finally at Oreck. My grandmother has a kirby and it's been running for longer than I have been. Unfortunately, they weigh a lot and aren't great on wood floors due to that weight which is why I bought an Oreck. Of course, the fact that it comes with free repair and annual service for 21 years was a definate factor in buying.

LOL It's not free repair, or service. You pay for it. Just in advanced.

All I can say about the Dyson is that people that haven't owned one complain about something and choose a different brand (most of the time it's a cheaper brand, but occasionally it's not). But everyone that I have ever talked to that owns one swears they will never get anything else.

Guess in about a week we'll see for our selves.

whoever told you they are cheap and break obviously doesn't have a Dyson.

Dysons pickup the stuff left by Orecks and Kirbys

We've had a Dyson Animal now for a few years...at first I thought the wife was buying into the hype of the tv ads but that thing is awesome. Even my crappy a$$ vacuuming picks up all the dog hair, something that would have taken several passes with the old vac and still left hair behind. My only real complaint is that it is loud compared to other vacs we have had.
