no - but there is a free alternative... Check out www.openoffice.org

It duplicates (and in my opinion improves) the entire MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint. YOu can even set it up to default to open/save as MS file extensions instead of its own.

That's gonna be it for free. Unless you're looking for illegal, in which case you're going to have to ask some place else.

Anyway I never did say illegal jsut free. I was lookign for somethign like what BigBruin mentioned - an alternative that would allow me to use the program.

I am nto goign to search out a bootleg copy- but I knwo many of you probably have them.

Actually... I don't (people here already know I'm a Nazi about this stuff... as getting caught with illegal software would cost me my job and career).

But there is no place to get legit free copies of MS's office, or OSes. Best bet is as BB said, Open Office.

Of course when you run Open Office, just like MS Office, always adhere to best practices. Such as disabling, or prompting, when opening files containing macro's. (Yep, there's an open office macro virus now.)

If you have an MS enterprise agreement at work you can get a copy for like $20

It's just a "proof-of-concept" virus. Infact, it's not even a virus as it's non-replicating as far as I read on the OO.o website last night.

He assumes we all prefer proprietary software over open source. Lies!

Gaim - AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Jabber, etc.
OpenOffice - MS Office XP
FireFox - IE
Xmms - Winamp
k3b - Nero
Gimp - Photoshop
Xine - Windows Media Player
Linux - Windows

Why would I bootleg software when there's better options that are, oh, so free?

I prefer Trillian for my consolidated IM needs! Grin

I will have to try k3b though, as I never heard of that and need something for burning as I really can't stand the Sonic stuff I have.
