on the dvd does it have the drivers for 98se? if it does pull them off that and copy them to a floppy then from there install them ...been forever since ive used that os. im assuming youve checked atis website?

i could not run the DVD, coz i have a CDreader only, but may be later during the week, at a friend place i will look at it. thankl's..it is an old PC..but not too slow.

well..ATI site drivers, will not support the [x1650] with win98se, tried before

those drivers are from 3 years ago and they say they are compatible with your system

Sadly I think the 1650 came out long after Win98 was considered a dead OS. Your probably not going to be able to use it with your OS.

Looks like you have to have XP to use the x1xxx line of cards. You can use 98se with the original x series card (X300/500/800, etc). BUT it's beta (i.e. not supported).

Honestly there is no reason to upgrade to such a high end card on Win98, as no games that can take advantage of the GPU will run on Win98.

If you can't upgrade the OS, then I'd say go get a 9800.

I highely suggest your upgrade your OS. If you have a great computer that meets todays standerds just upgrade to XP or Vista. But if you have a computer with everything low or slow then I suggest you keep the video card and buy a new PC.

Suggest looking at best buy, but if you want to make a custom PC look at cyber power inc or whatever the site is.
