I wouldn't bother with that.. too much hassle. it may be cheaper, but theres lots of little stuff that will probably outweigh that

Doctor Feelgood, how has ASUS's tech service been during the warranty period? I want this to be one of the key factors in choosing a laptop brand as I do intend to increase laptop RAM, possibly look into a SSD, etc.

Depends on how you go about tech service with Asus, I use their phone number to the center in Illinois. RMAd a board there couple of months ago, got it back within 3 weeks.

Tech support over on their site not so good.
