on newegg they have 80GB Seagates (SATA 300) for $44. put a few together for raid0 and that will be fast enough for an OS drive.

i like it all but the hdd ...just not a fan of the raptors as everyone stated... you dont really get much more performance for the money

I agree on the Raptor's. If you really want higher performance than a good 7200-rpm SATA drive you're going to have to move over to SCSI. And the cost go way up quickly there.

I think i will go for the spin point for the little bit extra cash as ive heard there pretty decent drives.


$350 dollars is my budget for a single hard drive or for two.
