I can't speak for anyone else, but I am not a tarot card reader. Razz

We need a few more details than your post above.

Hi Sujl - Welcome! Wave

Is it extremely slower? And does it seem like an unhealthy number?

Generally read is a bit faster than write, but is it close? Or is the write speed just so fast it makes the read seem slow?

Thank you for replying, here are the details of the speed test:

When tested in Xp, the read speed is about 60M/s
the write speed is about 80M/s

When tested in Vista, the read speed is about 70M/s
the write speed is about 80M/s

Is it abnormal that the read speed is slower although not much?

THX~ Smile

I ran a few speed testing programs to get the data of read speed and write speed .

Here are details of my computer:

HD:Seagate ST3250310AS
MB:Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe(NF 570)
CPU:AMD 6000+

This is a silly question, but did you remove that jumper on your seagate drive that limits your speed to 1.5 instead of 3.0? Try the test without the jumper and see what happens.
