A nifty piece of software to create Junctions in windows.

I like it because it has a GUI many others are CLI

Junctions are a useful part of the NTFS file system.

Using Junctions you can create a folder, whose contents are another folder in a separate location on your computer.

For example you can create on a new folder on “c:\accounts” then create a junction to “d:\documents\excel\accounts”.

Now when you save a file in “c:\accounts”, in reality it gets saved in “d:\documents\excel\accounts”.

Likewise when you browse the contents of c:\accounts, your browsing the contents of d:\documents\excel\accounts.

I have two folders containing games folders two drives on my pc.

So I have created a folder called “all games”, inside are two folders that been setup as Junctions, “games on g” and “games on e”.
this way I can see all my games installed simply by browsing one folder.

Yes I could use shortcuts but you cant browse the contents of shortcuts in explorer.

I also going to create a junction in a folder on my NAS server, for each of folders that currently are separate shares.

This will enable me to have one share instead of many.
