Fairly amusing. Run a server for a while, look at the logs and you have a list of people who are vulnerable to the remote code execution. It's bad enough EA killed Ultima Online for me, do they really have to kill games that haven't even been released yet?

although the software may be questionable, i can't see such software being illegal

your warned this software comes with the game and by installing the game your agreeing to those terms...

you don't need to install the game, its your choice

It is a little annoying that you aren't warned until after you've bought the game. By the time that paper falls out of the box, you've opened the software and the retailer won't take it back.

if you fight hard enough you could get the game returned.... but do you want to make a scene like that at the store?

exactly why i emphasize you must fight hard, demand management. though i totally agree the customer (or business) shouldn't have to go through this.

I won't buy BF2142, or any EA game for that matter, until they remove any and all in-game adverts of this type from their games.

I blogged about it a week or so ago when I first read about it...absolutely unacceptable to me and I'm glad to hear the fine folks here at Big Bruin agree. Smile

I am still going to buy Spore, EA or not. I intend to be camping the store, maybe taking the day off. I don't think I was as amped about any other title since Black & White was originally released.

Incidentally, has anyone determined what marketing genius was behind the advertising idea? Someone had to code it all in and someone is getting paid....
