I have a gateway computer 2.6 pentium 4, 80 gb hard drive, dvd rw and 1 gb of ram. I want to get a new video card that requires a more powerful psu. The problem with that is that my case in the back says it's a micro atx medium case and my current psu says atx...here is a link to my current psu http://support.gateway.com/s//POWER/6500703/6500703nv.shtml
does this look atx or micro atx? I had also talked to a gateway rep who recommended this psu which is an atx (here is the link)
She said it would fit, but i still have some doubts...do you think this startech psu will fit in my micro atx medium case or is she just giving me bull?
ps here is the link to my current case if u guys need to see it.

Ugh that is odd....doesn't look like just any power supply will fit Doesn't use a standard screw retention on the back!
I'd make sure you get the one the customer service rep said, and make sure of their return policy in case it doesn't work for you
BB is right, a case swap would probably be easier to do. It's really not that difficult (assuming the motherboard uses a standard system for the area around the keyboard/mouse/lan/usb ports). Which by the looks of it, it doesn't... |
