I am planning on purchasing a new pair of 7800GTX's on Friday. I'd like to keep it around the $1000 mark.

I'm considering a couple of them,
eVGA
or
XFX don't know the name but the reviews are all positive and the clock speed is up a bit higher than the EVGA.
or
Another eVGA Same clock speeds as the XFX but a well known name (and a higher price).

Any opinions?
I am also going to order one of These. Grin

While the XFX has better base clocks, a lot of what I read, the eVGA cards are still better. Plus the eVGA can be overclocked higher than the XFX can.

Second thing is the warranty on them...eVGA is a true lifetime warranty, and even covers the card if it's friend due to overclocking or if you chance the heat sink on it.

Right now I have a 7800gt, but will be using eVGA's "Step Up" program in 60 days to step up to the 7800gtx acs card. Maybe sooner, depending on what I can snowball the wife into LOL

Well I just ordered the XFX card. If you click on the link above you will notice a $100 discount on an Opteron 148 combo deal so I couldn't pass it up. Gonna order the second one on friday. Grin

$1790 shipped to CA. that would be nice but I think I'll save that for when I win the lotto.

Two of those cards wont work as 4x(2 cores per card) SLI since it's already doing SLI onboard.

They had 4x cores (2- 2x cards) running in 4x SLI at CES...

It takes tons of power and a special chipset driver, but it is done.

Dells biggest XPS machine is running 4x SLI also.

VRAM total =2Gb...

NV was showing off a machine running native 2560x1600 with Splinter cell. Looked incredible!!!

Yea... I pretty much creamed myself when I saw it. Laughing Took me a bit to actually understand when he said "2GB of RAM" he meant the video cards! Yikes

Ok so I got my Opty 148 and my 7800GTX from newegg. It looks really nice sitting in the box. The only bad thing is I am working 12hr days for the next few weeks and won't have any time to install it. Sad Bang Head
