For anyone here that suffers from Migrains or bad headaches I have a qestion for ya. My mother has been down for a week with the same migrain/headache. SHe was so bad off the transported her from Dr's office to the Hospital on Monday. They did a CAtscan and an MRI, from what they saw nothing showed up. No medicines are working for her though, they have given injection after injection. She is ok as long as she is laying down, but if she tries to get up, her head pounds, and the pain is so severe she actaully colapses. I made them check her sugar level, and her blood pressure is fine, but they take that laying down, I dont know if it would be different if she were standing or not. I take her to a neurologist today, but has anyone else ever gone through this? I am getting pretty scared for her, I am very close to my mom, and it kills me to see her in so much pain:( _________________ I am the Spam Queen...

I, on occasion, get migrains too. The only way for me to aleaviate the pain is to get a shot of demerol and sleep it off in a completely dark/silent room! (knock wood, I've not had one for some time now).
She may need to be trained to watch for the signs of an oncomming migrain, take preventive steps to ease the onslought.
I'm sorry for her/you! They are NO picnic!! |
Thats the thing Trek, she is on preventaitve medicine for them, she has been for years, so have I, they are nothing new to us. They have given her shot after shot of everything they can think of, nothing has taken it away:( SO I am getting a tad scared for her:( _________________ I am the Spam Queen...

UPDATE.... Took mok to the specialist and he ran some more test adn figured out it wasnt migrains, which is why the medicines they were giving her werent working. What she is having are called cluster thunderstorms, they come and go, all day and can last up tp a month that way, if not treated properly, he gave her a new medicine in the office, we waited 2 hours, and mom was like her old self again, she just has to take 2 different meds everyday to keep them from reappearing. _________________ I am the Spam Queen...

Ouch, I heard migrains are almost the worse thing to have. I never had one (or a big head ache for that matter) *touch wood* so I would not know how it really is, just know it hurts like crazy. .
Glad she's ok. _________________
