Folks
I'm using Intel Pentium IV 2.80A GHz, 1.4V Max, System Bus 533MHz Bus, 1MB L2 Cache, PGA-478 Pkg with Intel Motherboard D865PERL. Please note that officially my processor is not HT enabled, but system diagnosis type software like SiSoftware Sandra Professional 2004 & 3D Mark 2005 says that my processor is HT suported but disabled. I want to know whether I can unlock it to System Bus 800MHz & HT enabled.
Regards

Hi desertfox, and welcome!
Sometimes those diagnostic apps are inaccurate, as there is just way too much to index and keep up with. I have seen my own systems mislabeled in Sandra, but if you do have hyperthreading somehow hidden, the switch should be in your BIOS to turn it on.
They gave me a Dell to use at work and it was a few weeks before I noticed the default setting had HT turned off... and a quick trip to the BIOS fixed that. |
